About

Hi, I’m Kiandra.

I run Burr Necessities Tax, a small, fully virtual tax practice for individuals and small-business owners who want their taxes done right and explained like they’re a person.

Why Burr Necessities

Taxes are a necessity. Dreading them doesn’t have to be.

Here’s a confession: I actually like this stuff. The shoebox of receipts, the 1099 you forgot existed, the side hustle that quietly turned into a real business while you weren’t looking. Where most people see a headache, I see a puzzle I already know how to solve.

I started Burr Necessities Tax because good tax help shouldn’t feel like a pop quiz. Apps leave you guessing. Big chains can hand you a different person every year. Here, you get one preparer who knows your file, explains things in plain English, and still answers your texts in July.

I work with individuals, families, freelancers, and small-business owners, all virtually, so you never have to sit in a waiting room or hunt for parking. Bring your questions, your messy spreadsheets, and your “is this deductible?” texts. No judgment, I promise. I’ve seen worse.

And yes, the name is a pun. A double one, actually: “Burr” comes from my last name, Burruss, and the rest is a wink at “The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book. The philosophy fits. I’ll handle the forms, the deadlines, and the fine print. You handle the rest of your life, which, let’s be honest, is plenty.

Qualifications

The credentials behind the calm.

Tax preparation is regulated, and it should be. Here’s what’s in place to protect you and your return.

Required for anyone who prepares federal returns for pay. Renewed every year.
  • IRS Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN)
Authorizes the practice to file returns electronically with the IRS.
  • Written Information Security Plan (WISP)
A documented plan for safeguarding client data, required for tax professionals under federal rules.
  • Errors and omissions insurance
Professional liability coverage for the practice.
  • Plain disclosure
I’m not a CPA, Enrolled Agent, or attorney. I’ll always tell you if something is outside what I can help with. Read our disclosures.

How I work

Three promises I can actually keep.
